"Playing House"

Business of Home shared our latest shoot today in a piece about creative marketing solutions for boutique brands.

Making drawings, building unique repeating patterns and perfecting color palettes are all treasured parts of my process, but making digital in situes illustrating the final products in environments has always left me unsettled.

How could I make this part of the process as creatively satisfying as the rest? And how can I show people the grand, fully sensational, over-the-top visions I have for these designs?

Well, I got a dollhouse.

Now it truly is lucky that one of the best emerging photographers on the interior design scene just happens to be my dear friend and longtime collaborator, Joe Kramm. I got him on board with my idea and together we thrifted and sourced miniature furniture, decor, and materials. Over a few joyfully creative days in August, we made three complete marketing projects for my collection - at 1/12 dollhouse scale.

I will share more of the behind-the-scenes and process of this project because it was an absolute joy to create.
